The Digital Learning Lead spearheads the development and execution of a forward-thinking digital learning strategy, meticulously tailored to meet organizational objectives. This role encompasses crafting engaging and pedagogically sound online learning experiences, overseeing the creation of diverse digital content, and championing the integration of relevant learning technologies. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, this role ensures the seamless delivery of high-quality learning materials while leveraging data insights to continuously refine and enhance the overall digital learning ecosystem. This requires a commitment to staying abreast of industry trends and regulations which will drive innovation and maintain compliance, while maintaining adeptness at communication to effectively disseminate progress and outcomes to both internal stakeholders and external partners.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Strategy & Design: Develop a digital learning strategy aligned with organizational goals, design engaging online learning experiences using instructional design principles, and evaluate/implement learning management systems (LMS) for a seamless learning experience.

  • Content Creation & Management: Lead the creation of high-quality digital learning content (videos, modules, assessments, simulations), collaborate with subject matter experts and developers to ensure content accuracy, and troubleshoot technical issues for learners.

  • Data Analysis & Improvement: Utilize data and analytics to measure program effectiveness, identify areas for improvement, and make data-driven decisions for continuous improvement.

  • Staying Current & Sharing Knowledge: Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices in digital learning, ensuring compliance with relevant standards. Train instructors, facilitators, and learners to optimize their use of digital learning platforms and tools.

  • Innovation & Communication: Explore emerging technologies and pedagogies to enhance the learning experience and drive innovation. Communicate digital learning initiatives, progress, and outcomes to internal stakeholders and external partners.

Tasks and activities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive digital learning strategy aligned with the organization's goals and objectives.

  • Lead the design, development, and curation of high-quality digital learning content, including videos, interactive modules, assessments, and simulations.

  • Apply instructional design principles to create engaging and pedagogically sound online learning experiences.

  • Evaluate and implement learning management systems (LMS) and other digital learning technologies to enhance the learning experience.

  • Collaborate with subject matter experts, instructional designers, multimedia developers, and other stakeholders to create effective digital learning solutions.

  • Ensure the quality and accuracy of digital learning materials, troubleshoot technical issues, and provide technical support to learners as needed.

  • Utilize data and analytics to measure the effectiveness of digital learning programs, identify areas for improvement, and make data-driven decisions.

  • Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to digital learning, ensuring compliance with relevant standards.

  • Train instructors, facilitators, and learners to optimize their use of digital learning platforms and tools.

  • Explore emerging technologies and pedagogies to enhance the digital learning experience and drive innovation in online education.

  • Communicate digital learning initiatives, progress, and outcomes to internal stakeholders and external partners.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, or a related field.

  • Proven experience in digital learning design and development, preferably in an educational or corporate setting.

  • Strong expertise in instructional design models, eLearning authoring tools, multimedia production, and learning management systems.

  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

  • Proficiency in data analysis and using analytics to inform decision-making.

  • Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.

  • Familiarity with industry standards and best practices in digital learning and online education.

  • Ability to adapt to new technologies and a passion for staying updated with the latest trends in digital learning.

  • Flexible to work in shifting schedules, as well as holidays.

Preferred skills and competencies

  • Project management certification: Having a project management certification such as PMP (Project Management Professional) can aid in effectively managing digital learning projects and resources.

  • Experience in change management: Familiarity with change management methodologies can facilitate the smooth transition to new digital learning initiatives within the organization.
